Darrell Royal Maddock

Savannah - Darrell R. Maddock, age 86, died Friday, October 20, 2006, at Hospice House. The Ogden, Utah native had lived in Savannah since 1955. An entomologist, he retired from the United States Public Health Service in 1972. Mr. Maddock then assumed the position of Assistant Director of the Chatham County Mosquito Control from which he retired in 1985. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Photography Roundtable, and the Coastal Wood Turners. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise “Dixie” Maddock.
Surviving are his children, David S. Maddock and Rebecca “Becky” Barbee, both of Savannah; his grandson, Scott H. Floyd of Savannah; two sisters, Joyce Wall of Ogden and Janet Jorgenson of Salt Lake City; and a brother, Garth Maddock of Ogden.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
